Arbuckle Nordic Club...

 

Purpose: To promote and facilitate cross-country skiing opportunities in the Morrow County region of the Blue Mountains.

 

Brief History: Organized in 1994, the club provides cross-country skiing instruction through BMCC and on club outings in the nearby mountains and forests.

 

Projects: Informal club outings on Saturdays.

 

Meeting Frequency: Last Tuesday evening of January, March, May, September, and November.  Special meetings may be called by the chairman, if members are provided prior notice of a meeting.

 

Location: TBA; notices in the Heppner Gazzette-Times and mailed to members.

Size of Organization: Approximately 20.  The club is not yet officially affiliated with the Oregon Nordic Club. We get their mailings, and we may eventually establish an "official" affiliation.

Other Helpful Information: Saturday outings start at the City Park at 9am. A club member is designated  the leader who organizes carpooling, the destination and route, and the time frame for the outing.  The schedule of outings is published in the Heppner Gazzette-Times and is provided to the members through periodic newsletters.
