Heppner's OHV Park...
Off highway vehicle riders now have a dedicated place to break out their toys and play. Morrow County's 'off "highway Vehicle Park (OHV) is located in the Blue Mountains along Highway 207, approximately 32 miles south of Heppner. Twenty four designated camp sites are available for self-contained recreational vehicles in addition to tent sites. Sites are equipped with outdoor fire rings, picnic tables and garbage containers.

The park has a place where dirt-laden vehicles can be washed down. This helps reduce the spread of weeds. The park ahs become so popular Hardman resident Bob Allen maintains a cook shack there, offering everything from hot dogs to lattes.

The 6,200 acre parcel was made possible by grants funded by ATV gas taxes and ATV permit fees through other Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The money from Oregon  Watershed Enhancement Board funds covers the cost of projects such as cattle guards or fencing to protect sensitive areas and to develop water sources for both wildlife and domestic animals.

Snowmobilers and cross-country skiers will find the park a great recreational place during winters. Hiking, photography and camping are obvious park activities. Big-game, turkeys and other wildlife are often seen in the park. There is no charge for day parking or riding the trails.
