Morrow
County Health District strives to ensure the basic
health and medical services to all Morrow County
residents.
Emergency
medical services include ambulance dispatch sites
in Heppner and Lexington.
A first-response unit located in Ione is
called to stabilize victims until ambulance crews
can arrive.
EMS certification levels range from
volunteer drivers to paramedics.
Pioneer
Memorial Home Health provides intermittent home
care under the direction of a physician.
Registered nurses, home-health aides, social
workers, and therapists (physical, occupational,
speech) perform services for individuals confined
by illness or recuperation. Home Health
also has a very active Hospice organized for those
in need.
Pioneer
Memorial Hospital, in Heppner, is a twelve-bed,
acute-care, In-patient facility with a cardiac
care unit.
It is also licensed to provide skilled
nursing care under the Medicare/Medicaid Swing-Bed
program.

Outpatient services include emergency,
physical therapy, radiology, and laboratory.
PMH is designated on Oregon Trauma Level IV
facility, greatly improving chances for trauma
survival in a rural area.
Pioneer
Memorial Clinic, a primary-care clinic staffed by
family practice physicians and a family nurse
practitioner, sits near the hospital, to serve the
communities Monday through Friday.
