Ione,
with 250 residents, is the smallest
of the three communities in Oregon's
Willow Creek Valley. With tree-lined
streets and turn-of-the-century homes,
it offers a quiet, family-oriented
lifestyle.
Morrow and Umatilla counties are
experiencing some of Oregon's highest
economic growth rates. Most of that
new activity is taking place along the
I-84 and I-82 freeway corridors in the
northern part of Morrow County and
western Umatilla County. Recent
projections predict that non-farm
employment in this two-county region
will increase at a rate 75% greater
than
the state as a whole by the year 2006.
