left shoulder of Hwy 74 past the
football field & grandstand (1 km.),
the Morrow County Fairgrounds entry, & the
Wilkinson Arena.

on the left shoulder of Hwy 74 &
past the Mid-Columbia Bus Shop.

Hwy 74 & turn back towards town on
Fairview Way parallel to Hwy 74.
Fairview Way becomes Barratt Dr.
opposite of the fairgrounds entry.

on Barratt Dr. up the hill to Gilmore
St. (2 km.).

left on Gilmore St. at the house
fronted by a rock wall & go past the
Pioneer Memorial Hospital, the Nazarene
Church & back side of the courthouse
to Hager St.

left on Hager St. at the yellow children
playing sign & continue on Hager St.
past Hager City Park to Alfalfa
St. (599 Hager St. - 3 km.)

right on Alfalfa St. at the red &
white dead end sign, cross Willow Creek
& continue on Alfalfa St. to Cowins
St. & Hope Lutheran Church.

left on Cowins St. for 300 ft. to the
switchback trail which ascends the south
flank of the Willow Creek Dam.

Go
up the switchback trail to the rest
bench. Continue on the trail for
400 ft. and take the left branch of the
Y to the dam observation platform.

to the Y, turn left & go on the
trail to the Corps of Engineers dam
access road.

Veer
right & follow this road 200 ft. to
Cemetery Dr. (4km.). Willow Creek
Reservoir RV Park is visible to the
forward left.

Turn
a sharp right on Cemetery Dr. & go
past a white steel gate to the upper end
of Chase St.

Pass
the Heppner Masonic Cemetery on the left
hand side of the upper end of Chase
St.

Turn
right on Chase St. & go down the
hill past a yellow children playing
sign. Identification check point:

the stop sign at the bottom of the hill
& bridge over Shobe Creek (5km.)
turn left on Cannon St. past
the old swimming pool to S. Main St.

right on S. Main St. & go past the
U.S.F.S. compound & Heppner Ranger
Station to May St. & Heppner Hardware.

left on May St. & curve around to
the right to Gale St.

Proceed
on Gale St. past the City Hall/Fire
Station & the Christian, Episcopal,
Methodist & Catholic Churches to
Water St. (6 km.)

left on Water St., go up the steep hill
& curve in to Willow View Dr.

Follow
Willow View Dr. past the Morrow County
Sheriff's Department curving right on to
the Heppner High School Vocational
Agriculture Shop. (7 km.)
- Proceed
around the right side of the high school
shop to the track and make one clockwise
lap around the track. Exit the
track and proceed down past the left
side of the high school main building
and gymnasium to Morgan St. with the
Heppner High School wooden sign on the
right.
- Go left
at this intersection & down Spruce
Ln. to Fuller Canyon Ln. (8 km.)
- Turn
right on Fuller Canyon Ln., cross Willow
Creek & continue to Riverside
Ave.
- Turn
right on Riverside Ave. & pass the
Heppner Wastewater Treatment Plant (on
the right) &
the Willow Creek Aquatic Center (on the
left).
- Continue
on Riverside Ave. past Morgan St. (9
km.) to grain elevator at Hinton St.
which houses the Morrow county
Agricultural Collection.
- Go left
for one block on Hinton St. to Hwy
207/74. Turn right on Hwy 207/74 &
proceed on the right shoulder across
Hinton Dr. to the 1903 Flood Memorial
Park & Heppner city map sign.
- Continue
on the right shoulder of the highway
which is now Main St. across Willow
Creek to Church St.
- Cross
Main St. at Church St. & turn right
past the City Park, the Democrat Gulch
Pioneer School, the Heppner
Library/Morrow County Museum & the
Willow Creek Diner & Bakery & back to the
start/finish at Central Market. (10
km.).
